Abbey profits edge higher as difficulties continue

Housebuilder Abbey has reported pre-tax profits of €12.1 million for the year to the end of April. That compares to pre-tax profit of €11.5 million in the previous twelve months.

Housebuilder Abbey has reported pre-tax profits of €12.1 million for the year to the end of April. That compares to pre-tax profit of €11.5 million in the previous twelve months.

The result includes an impairment charge of €1.3 million against property land and work in progress arising from the continuing difficulties in the Irish market, the company said in a statement.
