December is traditionally the slowest month of the year for new car sales in Ireland. Our car registration system means few motorists opt to buy a new car in December, preferring instead to wait for a new year number plate.

By buying a new car towards the end of the year, motorists fear they automatically reduce its resale value.

“There is a real sense of depreciation,” said Anthony Neville of distributor OHM.
