The shock resignation of John Gallagher as chairman of the proposed new National Children’s Hospital has brought considerable uncertainty about the future of the €650million project.
Gallagher became the second chairman to step down in recent months, with his departure seemingly triggered by the decision of the new health minister, James Reilly, to review the Mater hospital in the centre of Dublin as the location for the development.
