The 18th-century residence is the historic seat of the Pollock family, who have been stationed here for some two and a half centuries. Originally built for Samuel Gibbons, the Queen Anne-style house was subsequently sold to John Pollock, a solicitor and agent for the Marquess of Downshire, who had been renting the estate.
