The investigation by the Director of Corporate Enforcement into Anglo Irish Bank is, we are told, nearing completion. Not before time, would be most people's reaction. More than four years after the extraordinary events at Anglo started to spill into the public domain, there have still been no prosecutions.

Perhaps there never will be, as the Director of Public Prosecutions still has to decide whether, in her view, such a course of action is justified....
