A bad day for paraskevidekatriaphobes
Every year has at least one Friday 13th and some have as many as three. This year has one in December as well as September.
Today is a challenging day for *paraskevidekatriaphobes* (or alternatively paraskevidekatriaphobics), who are people with a fear of Friday the 13th.
The term was coined by Dr. Donald E. Dossey, an American psychotherapist specialising in phobias and stress management. It is based on the Greek words paraskevi ('Friday') and dekatria ('thirteen').
The term should not be confused with the related phobia of the number 13, which is *triskaidekaphobia*.
