Bord na Móna and Dublin City Council are pressing ahead with an ambitious €500 million project which will pump water from the river Shannon to boost the east coast's reducing water supply.

Bord na Móna and Dublin City Council are pressing ahead with an ambitious €500 million project which will pump water from the river Shannon to boost the east coast's reducing water supply.

Dublin is running out of water and needs to source a new supply by 2016 , as the capital's population is projected to rise from 1.6 million in 2010 to between 2 million and 2.6 million by 2030.
