5,000 lawyers set for Dublin conference

The former president of the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet, is expected to address the opening of the first-ever Irish conference of the International Bar Association (IBA) this autumn. More than 5,000 lawyers are due in Dublin for the event, which it's estimated will be worth more than €20 million to the local economy.

The IBA includes 200 bar associations and law societies in more than 185 countries, and has 45,000 individual members.
