4-year plan launched to boost philanthropy

The Forum on Philanthropy hopes to increase charitable giving from around €500 million per annum to €800 million by 2016.

The government is to back measures to boost charitable giving by wealthy individuals.

A national giving campaign and new taxation infrastructure are among the plans.

A report launched today by the Forum on Philanthropy and Fundraising contains four main recommendations that will be implemented in the next four years.
