Apple may launch a 3G version of its iPhone as early as the summer, according to industry rumours.

There have been big price cuts in the device in Britain and Germany, leading analysts to speculate on a general stock clearance ahead of a 3G launch in the summer.

Prices of the 8GB model have fallen from stg£270 (€335) to stg£170 (€210) in Britain.
