€35m energy research centre for Tyndall Institute

Eighty-seven new jobs are to be created at the Tyndall National Institute in University College Cork, with the establishment of a new €35 million International Energy Research Centre (IERC).

Eighty-seven new jobs are to be created at the Tyndall National Institute in University College Cork, with the establishment of a new €35 million International Energy Research Centre (IERC).

The IERC will research integrated sustainable energy systems for industry. It will have research facilities for US multinational United Technologies Corporation (UTC), which has commited investment of €15 million to the project, creating 35 jobs.
