3,000 more rooms needed at Dublin's inns, says hotels expert

Dublin needs up to 3,000 extra hotel rooms to meet rising demand and dampen price inflation that could damage tourism, hotel business restructuring expert Aiden Murphy has calculated.

“In the city centre, occupancy rates are already at 85-95 per cent – that is pretty much full occupancy. This and expected tourism growth might require 3,000 to 4,000 extra hotel rooms,” Murphy said.
