3 wines to try, buy and put by

A quirky blend from the Languedoc, an attractive option from a rising star and a dense, multi-layered gem from Bordeaux.

Castelmaure, Corbières, AOP Corbières 2010.

Castelmaure is one of the most progressive and quirky co-operatives in the Languedoc. Its adventurous blendings give endless variation of expression of almost 700 parcels of vines.

This carignan, grenache noir, syrah and cinsaut blend from limestone and schist soils, offers a soft, medium-bodied wine with attractive mid palate spice and sweetness, yet a savoury minerality and gentle finish.
