Hutchison Whampoa, the owner of the 3 Mobile brand, has renewed a bid of about €2 billion for Eircom, according to wire reports.

Hutchison Whampoa, the owner of the 3 Mobile brand, is reported to have resubmitted a bid of about €2 billion for Eircom.

Dow Jones newswire said the Hong Kong company had attached no conditions to the fresh bid, other than the need to carry out due diligence on the phone company.

Bloomberg News reported earlier that a previous cash offer by Hutchison’s 3 Ireland unit was rejected by Ireland’s court-appointed examiner because there were too many...
