€1m in damages repaid to MIBI

The husband and daughter of a woman who was awarded more than €1 million in damages after a road accident have had to hand back their share of the money to the Motor Insurers Bureau of Ireland (MIBI) following the woman’s death.

The husband and daughter of a woman who was awarded more than €1 million in damages after a road accident have had to hand back their share of the money to the Motor Insurers Bureau of Ireland (MIBI) following the woman’s death.

In April 1991, Catherine Stanbridge was very seriously injured in the accident. The car, which was driven by her husband, Austin, belonged to her daughter Lorraine and was uninsured.
