The chief executive of a local government agency that has been earmarked for merger with similar agency for the past three years is paid an annual salary of more than €153,000.

The chief executive of a local government agency that has been earmarked for merger with similar agency for the past three years is paid an annual salary of more than €153,000.

Environment minister Phil Hogan told the Dáil last week that the chief executive of the Local Government Management Services Board (LGMSB), Paul McSweeney, was paid €153,885 a year.
