11 new nursing homes to be ready shortly

The HSE plans to introduce 860 long-stay beds over the next 12 months as part of a €112 million investment in residential care.

The HSE plans to introduce 860 long-stay beds over the next 12 months as part of a €112 million investment in residential care.

Eleven new community nursing homes are to be completed in the coming months, with four in Dublin, four in Cork, two in Galway and one in Tralee, Co Kerry.

The pilot project - a €20 million community nursing home project at the Cherry Orchard Hospital campus in Palmerston, Dublin - has just been completed.
