More than 10,000 homes in Fingal, Meath, Dublin City, Kildare and Offaly will potentially suffer from pyrite problems, according to the report.

More than 10,000 homes in Fingal, Meath, Dublin City, Kildare and Offaly will potentially suffer from pyrite problems, according to the report of a panel appointed by the government to examine the problem.

The average cost of fixing the problems in each home was estimated by the panel as €45,000.

12,250 homes in 74 estates in those areas have been identified by the panel as possibly have pyrite. Of these dwellings, the panel said 850 currently...
