10% of bus services could go to open tender by 2016 - NTA

The National Transport Authority plans to open up approximately 10 per cent of Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann services to the private sector by 2016, it said.

NTA: Tendering in the order of 10% of the services would be of a scale that would encourage good competition.

The National Transport Authority plans to open up approximately 10 per cent of Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann services to the private sector by 2016, it said.

The agency is proposing to enter into another direct award contract with Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann in 2014 but to amend those contracts in 2016 to reduce the services within those contracts by approximately 10%.
