Councils around the country are owed €75 million in unpaid rents and a further €153 million in housing loan arrears, information from the Department of Housing shows.

The figures show that at the end of last year, Dublin City Council was owed €26 million in outstanding rents from social housing tenants, with South Dublin County Council owed €8.4 million, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council owed €4.2 million and Limerick City and County Council owed €3.8 million....
