Forget the debate about a hard or soft Brexit: the only Brexit that matters is the one that's advantageous to Ireland
Consider these two apparently irreconcilable statements:
1. The EU has been an overwhelming positive for Ireland socially, culturally, legally and economically. Ireland’s future lies within the EU, not without.
2. Britain is not just Ireland’s biggest trading partner, but culturally and historically our biggest ally. Our future rests on a strong relationship with Britain. Without such a healthy and concrete relationship, our future will be damaged.
