The government’s pre-budget paper is proposing a clampdown on NOx pollutants

About 20 pages of the Budget 2020 Tax Strategy Group paper, entitled Climate Action and Tax, are dedicated to motor taxation, and I bet there are hundreds of well-thumbed printouts of it throughout the motor industry here. It sets out options to overhaul various aspects of motor taxation, with a focus on the environmental rationale.

I’m glad to see the publication of this document so far ahead of this autumn’s budget.
