Its own officers played fast and loose with the truth and nobody noticed – or cared. Nobody was checking their work, checking their procedures or keeping an eye on the figures. They just went on their merry way, making it all up. Or, perhaps in true Anglo Irish Bank style, they simply ‘picked the numbers from their a***,’ knowing as the bankers knew that no one would stop to check or call their breathalysing rates...
