There are many annual car awards schemes in operation, resulting in many ‘official’ cars of the year, including the World Car of the Year and the (curiously, more respected) European Car of the Year. In 2014, the Association of Professional Motoring Press (APMP) was formed in Ireland, consisting of the country’s most-read motoring journalists.
