It’s two weeks since Vicky Phelan broke down in tears outside the High Court after settling her case with a US lab for misreading cervical smear tests. The Health Minister has announced a scoping exercise to find out why she and others were not informed of their inaccurate smear results earlier and to determine if the screening service is as good as it should be.

As politicians focus on the position of HSE boss, Tony O'Brien, some 900 women a day are ringing a national helpline looking for answers. In this week’s post podcast, Mary Regan is joined by Susan Mitchell, and asks if things should have been handled differently.
