And they’re off! Well, actually, not quite. But it won’t be long now. Like players instructed to keep singing the national anthem until the referee says the pitch is playable, the TDs just want to get on with it. For the first time since November 1982, I will not be a direct participant in what the late John Kelly called “the great spectator sport”. It is a strange feeling.
