The boss of the Chinese phone giant is ramping up the bombast ahead of a crunch period for the company’s global prospects

Huawei praises 'sound' Irish investment environment

We already knew that Ren Zhengfei, the Huawei founder and boss, liked military terminology – but he really ramped things up last week.

In a memo, Ren told staff to form commando squads to explore new projects and told them this was a “live or die” moment. His statement read half like Vin Diesel’s dialogue from the Fast and Furious movies and half like a pep talk by a battlefield general.
