Getting up at 5am isn’t really in this corner’s nature unless there’s a flight to catch. No kids, few other responsibilities, and a fondness for bed make waking up for any sporting event less than appealing. The Australian Open used to do it but even that rarely rouses this rake anymore. A pair of friendlies in a sport that isn’t otherwise played certainly weren’t going to do the job....
