German decision a rare but vital win for Huawei

The Chinese phone-maker will be allowed to bid to provide the country’s 5G networks

Now it has had a shot in the arm from a most unlikely source: Germany, which has just approved it as a bidder for 5G contracts. A regulator as strict as Germany’s approving Huawei to bid on contracts such as these might have seemed as likely as the Irish football team showing an ounce of creative nous.
