Well that's that, Ireland was completely cleaned out in London yesterday when the Rugby World Council voted in secret ballot to award France the right to host the Rugby World Cup in 2023. After receiving just eight votes of a possible 39 on offer, Ireland was dumped out of the running, with France beating the odds and the favourites, South Africa, to the prize.
