Never before has a political scandal caused me to battle with feelings of total fury and, simultaneously, complete apathy, as Votegate.
On the one hand it’s difficult not to be enraged by the complete disregard shown by elected representatives to the most precious and central expression of our parliamentary democracy: voting. On the other, the wall-to-wall media coverage, in-house political hysteria and one-upmanship of the various political actors involved is unedifying.
