Cost of a united Ireland would crush us with tax

A united Ireland has the support of six out of ten people in the 26 counties of Ireland even if it costs the Irish government €9 billion, according to a recent poll

You’d have thought that, by now, we’d have learned the lesson not to blithely spend money we don’t have, or subscribe to the notion that “other people” will just pay for our nice things.

Apparently we haven’t. Not by a long shot.

There was a poll carried out over the New Year period by Ireland Thinks for the Irish Daily Mail.
