Labour, in concert with some senior members of Fine Gael, has been falling over itself lately promising to repeal the 8th Amendment to the Constitution. The culmination of these efforts arrived with the unveiling of Labour’s proposal to delete the 8th Amendment and replace it with what would effectively amount to the state endorsement of wide-ranging abortion.
