Politicians cashing out of rental properties as house prices surge

Like many small landlords, Oireachtas members are taking advantage of high prices to turn a profit on real estate

TDs and senators are starting to sell, or have already sold, their rental properties, according to the latest register of interests for elected representatives.

There has been a flight of small landlords from the residential rental market in recent years, with many people cashing in on properties that have surged in value.
