Housing development: A central measure is the provision of more state funding so that the budget for the Land Development Agency (LDA) is doubled from €1.25 billion to €2.5 billion. Picture:

The government is going to double the budget for the Land Development Agency and order public bodies to hand over key sites, as part of the new ten-year housing strategy.

There are also ongoing discussions about including a tax on vacant homes in the new strategy and giving more funding to councils to refurbish disused properties.
