VideoDoc would charge GPs around €100 to €150 a month for the technology

Patients who are struggling to access GP surgeries may soon have the option of an online consultation with their own GP.

The technology, which is available from Irish firm VideoDoc, is being piloted with a group of GPs in west Dublin.

A number of health insurers offer their customers an online consultation service with GPs and nurses who are employed by the health insurer.
