Trump’s response to Covid-19 crisis ‘dismal’, says US expert

A leading epidemiologist who advised on the movie Contagion cites lack of political will among Republicans to contain virus

Donald Trump’s handling of the Covid-19 crisis has been “dismal”, according to the epidemiologist who advised on Contagion, the 2011 blockbuster pandemic movie.

Speaking to the Business Post from New York, Ian Lipkin, professor of epidemiology at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, said that many of his predictions as part of making the film had come true.
