Private unlicensed paramedic providers are marketing their services directly to the public, with the regulator powerless to intervene. The regulator of pre-hospital emergency care said it was unable to reprimand or impose sanctions on such providers.
The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) said the system of registration of licensed pre-hospital care providers was a voluntary one and that it was “unable to prevent unlicensed providers from marketing/advertising pre-hospital emergency care or paramedic type services”....
