Patients left without proper health cover, warn 18 private hospitals

The Private Hospitals Association has warned that increasing numbers of patients are realising too late that their cover falls short of the standard required

Private hospitals have warned that patients are being left with inadequate health insurance cover, with many plans failing to cover core treatment areas.

The Private Hospitals Association (PHA) said members had seen an increasing number of patients left without adequate cover in key treatment areas including cancer, cardiology and orthopaedics.

The association, which represents 18 hospitals, is launching an awareness campaign this week which urges patients to check the vitals of their health insurance cover....
