NCH board ‘not in position’ to assess cost of Covid-19 containment measures

Construction work has yet to resume on the project where the cost has already increased from an estimated €637 million in 2016 to at least €1.7 billion.

The board of the €1.7 billion National Children’s Hospital (NCH) has said that it is too early to “fully assess” the impact of new health and safety requirements on the cost of the development.

The cost of the project has been controversial for some time, having almost trebled from an estimated €637 million in 2016 to at least €1.7 billion.
