Most GPs favour opt-in abortion service – poll

A poll carried out by GP Buddy found that 70 per cent of the 880 GPs who responded said they did not intend to provide abortion services

GPs want the government to design an opt in service for the provision of abortions and early medical terminations, a new poll carried out by the National Association of General Practitioners has shown. GPs want an opt in service so they do not feel obligated to provide abortion services.

Recent polls have suggested that most GPs do not want to participate, irrespective of how much they are paid or resourced to provide the service.
