Minister for Health met children’s hospital board just twice in three years

Minister for Health Simon Harris is criticised for ‘hands-off approach’ to project

Minister for Health Simon Harris met with the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (NPHDB), which is charged with the construction of the National Children’s Hospital, just twice since May 2016, despite a €1 billion overrun in construction costs.

The minister responded to a parliamentary question about the number of times he had met members of the NPHDB. He said he met the board in August 2019 and again in November 2019.
