A prominent human rights group has said that the genetic data harvesting firm Genomics Medicine Ireland (GMI) should cease collecting medical data and be subject to a full investigation by the Data Protection Commission (DPC).
Elizabeth Farries, information rights programme manager for the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL), told this newspaper that it was “alarmed” that GMI has expressed confusion regarding its basic obligations under EU and domestic data protection and privacy laws....
