HSE details 300 new hospital bed locations for winter period
Hospitals set to receive the most beds include Cork University Hospital and Galway Hospital
The Ireland East Hospitals Group will be the biggest beneficiary of beds that are set to open to alleviate hospital overcrowding, the HSE has confirmed.
Minister for Health Leo Varadkar announced funding for 301 beds to open in 2015 to support hospitals through the winter period.
Some 79 beds will open at hospitals in the Ireland East Hospitals Group, according to figures provided by the HSE. That group includes St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin.
