Harris accused of breaching terms of consultant contracts

Minister for Health Simon Harris is breaching the terms of the 2008 consultants’ contract, as well as the terms of a 2018 High Court settlement, hospital consultants have claimed.

Dr Donal O’Hanlon, president of the Irish Hospital Consultants Association (IHCA), wrote to the minister last week outlining various alleged breaches. He also said that the IHCA would hold an emergency council meeting to decide on its next steps. That emergency council meeting took place yesterday afternoon....
