Yes, it’s bad - but it’s not all bad. Amid the ongoing failures in our health service, there have also been some notable successes. Here, we look at some of the positive developments that happened in 2017

Throughout much of last year, there was a relentless focus on what was wrong with our health service.

There was the failure to tackle waiting lists or address emergency department overcrowding.

There was the failure to address the serious medical recruitment crisis, or progress the key initial recommendations in the Sláintecare health reform report. There was the failure to make any tangible progress in negotiations with GPs on a new contract.
