Department holds exclusive contract talks with IMO

The Department of Health has held exclusive contract talks with the Irish Medical Organisation in recent months, leaving the rival National Association of General Practitioners out of the negotiations on a new contract.

Susan Clyne, chief executive of the Irish Medical Organisation (IMO), confirmed that contract negotiations had restarted in May. She said the GP representative group was “considering proposals that have been tabled”.
