Rosanna Davison has been caught up in a storm in recent weeks

Of all the ill-advised elements of her newspaper interview that triggered the controversy, the suggestion that gluten is linked to autism was perhaps the worst. Autism is a multi-faceted neurodevelopmental disorder with no known links to diet. The insinuation that gluten is causative is both totally wrong and implicitly dangerous.
