Creches and pre-schools are facing four different check-ups in the wake of RTE’s Prime Time expose.

It comes as one of the creches in the 2013 programme, which focused on alleged mistreatment of children in three facilities, is being sued by children and their parents in the High Court.

The controversy over childcare standards has prompted the government to introduce a system which will contain four different checks on creches and pre-schools.
