New committee pledges to fight a plan to cull services at the midlands hospital
A campaign aimed at saving and upgrading Portlaoise Hospital got underway last week with the formation of a new Portlaoise Hospital Action Committee.
The new committee has pledged to fight health service plans to pull certain services from the hospital.
Specifically, there are plans to replace the emergency department at Portlaoise Hospital with a minor injuries unit.
